The Steps to Treatment

Consultation

Before your treatments for medical weight loss, you will meet with a provider for a consultation.  We’ll assess your medical history, weight loss goals, and expectations for medically supervised weight loss.  Using all this information, we’ll design an experience-based treatment program for you.

Treatment

Every client is different, and so is their treatment plan!  Your treatment may consist of medications, resources, and professional support as you work toward your weight loss goals.

As part of your weight loss program, your provider may recommend a GLP program.  GLPs helps your body burn sugar and can be a useful part of your long-term weight management.  Often referred to as “a game-changer” (even by the New York Times in a 2021 article), clinically proven GLP treatments consistently reduce body weight by up to 15% or more.

GLPs target visceral fat-the fat deep inside your belly and wrapped around your organs – so you’ll actually look leaner as you lose weight!

Results

Client results vary based on their unique anatomy, goals, and treatment plan.

FAQ

Am I a candidate for medically supervised weight loss?

If you are struggling to lose or maintain your weight through a healthy diet and exercise, you may be an excellent candidate for medically supervised weight loss.  A consultation is the best way to find out if this treatment is right for you.

Does my insurance cover medical weight loss?

It can.  If you are a patient of the practice, we will run the visit through your insurance.  If you are not a member, there are fees assessed for services, these are waived if you purchase from us.

How does Semaglutide work?

Semaglutide mimics a hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1).  GLP-1 specifically targets areas in the brain that regulate appetite and food intake.  This can help you eat less, thereby helping you lose weight.

How often should I take a GLP?

To stay in accordance with the program, you should take Semaglutide or Tirzepatide once a week, at any time of day, with or without food.

Are GLPs for weight loss?

Yes.  Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are FDA-approved injectable prescription medication for adults who are either overweight or obese.  Technically referred to as a GLP-1 receptor agonist medicine.  emaglutide and Tirzepatide mimic glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) by increasing insulin secretion and suppressing appetite.

Is Semaglutide or Tirzepatide the same as Wegovy, Ozempic, Zepbound or Mounjaro ?

Yes.  Both Wegovy and Ozempic are branded medicines made by Novo Nordisk.  Both contain Semaglutide and should not be used while taking other GLP-1 receptor agonist medicines.  Zepbound and Mounjaro are branded medications made by Eli Lilly.  These are newer versions and work very similar.

Is Semaglutide or Tirzepatide FDA-approved?

Yes.  Semaglutide injections were approved by the FDA in  2021, and was the first approved drug for chronic weight management in adults since 2014.  Tirzepatide was FDA approved in 2022.

Do GLPs have possible side-effects?

Yes.  Semaglutide or Tirzepatide may cause the following side effects: headaches, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, fatigue, upset stomach, constipation, and diarrhea, as well as belching and heartburn.  Check with your provider if any of the aforementioned side effects occur while taking Semaglutide.
